Circumstances
6 seafarers are owed between 2 and 3 months wages.
The crew is very stressed and afraid because of the principals’ pressure towards them.
The seafarers report that they had to pay a fee to the manning agent and the shipowner to get the job on board.
Vessel has been inspected by port state control and 9 deficiencies were found.

Crew have been successfully repatriated from Finland and the outstanding wages have been paid by the company via the Ships agent in Finland.

Please be informed that the abandonment is resolved.
We send you here enclosed the signed document between the Company and ITF.
The same was executed on 09/09/2024 and the abandonment reported by ITF on 12/09/2024.
We send you here eclosed, for better understanding, the messages exchanged between us and the owner and ITF coordinators.
Please note that we have been involved in the case starting from 07/09/2024 only when we have been copied to a message sent from ITF coordinator but at that point the litigation was already started.
Before 07/09/2024 we have never received any compliant from the vessel’s crew and no observation were reported by:
Port state control officers involved in Paris Mou PSC on 01/08/2024 (Kalamata, Greece) and on 09/09/2024 (Kokkola, Finland).
Flag State Inspector who attended the vessel on 27/07/2024 at Suez, Egypt.
We will conduct an additional audit to the Company Montevideo Ship Management Ltd to better assess their implementation of the ILO MLC2006 Convention.

US$59,310 was paid by the principals on 6th September 2024.
Later same day we received information that the crew were forced to give the money back to the Master.
There were 6 crew members wanting to repatriate due to unpaid wages and received threats. These 6 crew members were checked in to a hotel for their safety.
We are awaiting confirmation of the remaining wages having been paid.
