Circumstances
Owed wages of 6 months, lack of provision, fuel, water, etc. Some of the crew have expired SEA’s and some of them have no SEA. The vessel appears to be under a legal arrest.

Legal action was undertaken and the owner paid US$23,770,00 in two instalments. On 1st March 2025, all the crew were repatriated. They still have a small amount of owed wages. This case is now marked as disputed.

Referrence to the trailing mail, wherein it is mentioned that 5 Indian seafarers were onboard of vessel Jetmax 8 notified that abandonment on 4 September 2024 at Port, Tuzla, Türkiye.
However, according to DGS E-Governance records, it is found that no Indian seafarer was placed onboard of the said vessel.
In view of the above, it is requested to kindly provide the List of Indian Seafarers on board of the said vessel at the earliest so that Directorate can proceed with the necessary action.

Regarding your comments that this notification arrives 4 months after the vessel was cancelled from your Registry, which I assume from the information on IMO GISIS was on 1 October 2024 and therefore after the date of abandonment on 4 September 2024, and on how the flag State could possible assist, I would like to clarify that from the date of the deletion in the registry of nationality of ships the flag State is not further responsible to effectively exercise its jurisdiction and control in the sense of UNCLOS article 94. However, this may be without prejudice to responsibilities and obligations that were already vested before the deletion, as is the case with many flag State obligations concerning abandonment as in the MLC, 2006.
In view of this it would be appreciated if Belize as the responsible flag State on 4 September 2024 could still contact the owner/operator at that time. I herewith copy to Mr. Mark Krzyzak at S & P Global for the latest information regarding the flag registration.

In this regard and as always, our Administration takes seriously these notifications in order to safeguard the integrity of our seafarers.
Nevertheless, this notification arrives 4 months after the vessel was cancelled from our Registry; therefore, we are wondering how to assist considering that there is not any legal base to press the owner/operator as this vessel is no longer registered with us.

One of the seafarers attempted suicide by hanging himself from the stern of the ship due to the situation, he was rescued by his friends.
