14 February 2025: Panama
(From Maritime Authority of Panama)
In response to the Complaint presented in our Office against the vessel Bulk Carrier 'ATHERAS', IMO Number 9305104, Flag: Panama, having on board 24 seafarers from India (3) and Philippines (21) who were abandoned at sea on 1 January 2025.

We send you proof of payment of the crew's back wages presented by the company. (see attached)

12 February 2025: Other
(From Sea Trade Marine S.A. on behalf of the shipowners)

We would refer you to the attached documentation including but not limited to bank swifts/ remittance slips/ pay slips according to which all outstanding wages have been paid in respect of all crew members aboard the MV BUENA VENTURA and MV ATHERAS. In addition, all seafarers have voluntarily signed their payslips confirming that there are presently no wages unpaid. We wish to add at this point that the Manning agents delayed the submission of certain documents (eg MGAs) which were necessary for making the payment(s) in good time. However, we are able to ensure that future wages will be paid in full and on time regardless (eg whether the MGAs are ready / submitted on time or not)

In the circumstances, we would be most grateful if both vessels are now removed from the IMO/ILO joint database on abandonment considering.
