We acknowledge receipt of your below e-mail with the notification of the abandonment case of MV PHOSPHERUS NH.
In this regard and as you well know, our Flag State takes very seriously this kind of complaints and takes immediate actions to solve in the best and fastest way possible. Considering this, I will provide you with the sequence of events:
1. On 7 March 2025, a notification from the ITF was received. Immediately, we notified the owner/operator asking for clarification on this claim.
2. On 12 March 2025 due to the lack of response by the owner/operator on our request for clarification, a Prohibition from Sailing Notice (PSN) was issued.
3. On 13 March 2025, Egypt local authorities were notified about the PSN in order to avoid the vessel to depart from its current location until this matter is resolved.
4. On 14 March 2025, a response from the owner was received, informing that all outstanding will be paid within this week.
5. Today, a follow up was sent in order to have their confirmation on when the payment and repatriation will be effective.
Bearing in mind the above, please be sure that this Administration will continue pressing them until they fulfill its obligations with our national and international requirements.
As soon as we are in possession of further information, we will revert with an update.
Thanks for your kind effort in favour of our seafarers and rest assured that our Flag State will do also our part as we do not want this kind of owners with ships flying our flag.
