2 September 2025: Panama
In response to the labour complaint filed against the vessel "BGMS SPLENDOR, IMO No. 9944376”, you will find the latest communications:
May 16, 2025, PMA was notified of the labour complaint, 11 crew members on board (3 Egypt, 2 Azerbaijan, 3 Indonesia, 1Kenya, 1 Russian and 1 Tanzania). They are demanding three to eight months of back pay. The chief engineer reported that he has not received his salary since September 2024.
May 21, 2025. PMA sent the first communication addressed to ship owners, operators, and/or local resident agents, communicating the labour complaint filed against the vessel and requesting the measures adopted to correct such deficiencies.
May 22, 2025. The administration issued a documentary restriction on the vessel.
June 18, 2025. The International Group of P&I responded that the vessel is insured under a financial security issued by the GARD P&I Club.
June 19, 2025. PMA sent the second communication addressed to ship owners. operators, and/or local resident agents, communicating the labour complaint filed against the vessel and requesting the measures adopted to correct such deficiencies.
July 23, 2025. P&I Club GARD, responded that it is working to have the owner cover the outstanding wages.

In reference to the report below regarding the BGMS SPLENDOR’, IMO Number 9944376, which has been reported as abandoned and has been reported as being entered with GARD. I have checked the IG Vessel Search and have confirmed that the vessel is in fact entered with the Shipowners Club. I have notified Shipowners Club of the reported abandonment and will report to this group once the Club has looked into the abandonment. I would be grateful if the notice could be updated to reflect the correct Club.
