I hope this email finds you well. Thanks for your recent communication regarding the vessel. I’m *****, ***** the Department of Marine Administration (DMA), Myanmar.
We have received a vessel abandonment report concerning the General Cargo Kum Jin (IMO No. 8806462) under flag of Mongolia. According to the report, the vessel was abandoned by the ship owner at Port Klang, Malaysia on 1st January 2025. There are six seafarers onboard from Myanmar, who have unpaid wages between 2 and 7 months.
During the investigation of the incident, it was observed that C/O ***** was sent by one of the SRPS companies registered in the department. The SRPS have reported to the DMA that they have already communicated to the ship owner regarding this matter.
Unfortunately, the information we currently have is incomplete. To proceed with the necessary actions and provide assistance to the affected seafarer, it is required detailed information about the rest of 5 Myanmar seafarers, including name, passport number, and Seafarer Identification and Record Book (SIRB) number.
We kindly request your assistance in providing the required information. Your prompt response will greatly aid us in addressing this urgent matter and ensuring the welfare of the stranded seafarers.
Therefore, we would like to express our gratitude for notifying the department regarding the unpaid wages of the seafarer mentioned above.

Vessel currently under detention by Malaysia PSC
4 months outstanding wages for 5 crews, 7 months outstanding wages for Chief Officer and 2 months outstanding wages for Master and Chief Engineer. The 3 crews who initially reported to the ITF seafarer support on the 15th April 2025 already sign off on the 14th May 2025 with only 1 months salary received in cash. Remaining only Master, Chief Officer and Chief Engineer onboard as of 11th June 2025.
