The situation is unresolved because the master remains on board, unpaid and awaiting repatriation. He has seven months of outstanding wages and has been on board for over 12 months. Additionally, new crew members have three months of unpaid wages, though they have not yet raised the issue. The open abandonment case will remain pending until the master is paid and repatriated.

Thank you for your message and for the information provided regarding the abandonment case of Ayodhya (IMO No. 1066219).
Please note that the vessel Ayodhya (IMO No. 1066219) was reported by the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) as a new case of abandonment on 7 July 2025 and has since been recorded in the ILO/IMO Joint Database on Abandonment of Seafarers. The current status of the case in the database remains listed as unresolved.
In accordance with established procedures, a case of abandonment is considered resolved if, and only if, the ILO has received clear confirmation from the Member State or organization that originally reported the case that:
(i) the entire crew has been successfully repatriated; and
(ii) all outstanding wages and contractual entitlements have been fully paid and duly received by all seafarers concerned.
In this regard, confirmation from the original reporting organization, namely the ITF, is required before any change to the status of this case can be made in the database.
@ITF (abandonment team): I therefore kindly invite the ITF to review VIVIAN MARINE SERVICES PRIVATE LIMITED’s request and the supporting documentation provided, and to advise the ILO accordingly.

With reference to MT AYODHYA crew salary and repatriation we have closed the matter with help of the ship owmer long back abur the vessel is still unresolved in the ILO LIST.
I request to kindly review and remove the vessel from your list of abandoned vessel in order to solve the issue from DG shipping, India.
I have attached of their declaration and other documents for your reference.

This is to inform you that the Directorate General of Shipping has initiated multiple actions to expedite the repatriation and wage settlement of the affected seafarers.
The following steps have been undertaken:
1. Letters have been issued to the concerned RPSL companies directing them to expedite the repatriation process and ensure timely settlement of wages.
2. The Directorate Seamen’s Employment Office (DSEO) has been instructed to:
◦ Intimate the concerned parties regarding the case,
◦ Follow up regularly with the respective RPSL companies, and
◦ Conduct hearings with the RPSL companies wherever required.
3. The MEA (Division-wise) has been informed about the case to facilitate additional details and necessary coordination.
4. A Demi-Official (DO) letter has been issued to the MoPSW for their intimation and further guidance.
Kindly find attached the excel sheet with case wise updates. It is our humble request to update this in the IMO/ILO Joint database under comments and observation section. We will also be sending regular updates regarding each case as and when we get case notifications so that it can be uploaded in the comments and observation section.
This coordinated approach is aimed at ensuring timely resolution of the matter.
