With reference to your e-mail dated on Oct.27th, 2025 regarding to the MLC complaint of the 7 Russian seafarers requesting assistance (outstanding wages since Feb.,2025 & repatriated on board the said MT. ‘Dignity, IMO NO: 9283241, Flag: Russia at Suez Port, Egypt-
Kindly note that we have been in close contact with all parties concerned since the case was first raised. Please note the following most up to date information Hereby:
1- The Russian ship owner’s failure to pay wages and cover repatriation costs is a clear violation of MLC, 2006 Regulation 2.5.
2- There are court cases against the ship’s owner have been raised on behalf of the port agent and local (ship chandler /fuel supplier’s) companies in order to guarantee their outstanding Debts
3- The Embassy of the Russian Federation at Cairo will address the Russian Maritime Authority (Flag State) through our diplomatic channel to enforce Regulation 2.5 and Standard A2.5.2 of the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006, specifically demanding an action regarding activation of the Mandatory Financial Security system to cover the seafarers' repatriation costs
