(From the Department of Marine Administration, Myanmar)

We have received a vessel abandonment report concerning the General Cargo Yi Li 1 ( IMO No.1059149 ) under flag of Panama. According to the report, the vessel was abandoned by the ship owner in Dongyin Island, Taiwan Province of China on 10th October 2025. There are seven seafarers onboard from Myanmar who have not received wages four months.

But we received the information that vessel was arrested by the Malaysian Coast Guard in Malaysia. The SRPS company have reported to the DMA that they have already communicated to seafarers and ship owner regarding this matter.

According to the information from ship owner, they are seeking assistance from Myanmar Embassy in Malaysia to get sign off permission from Malaysian Coast Guard. They will also arrange Myanmar Crews repatriation and outstanding wages.

We would like to express our gratitude for notifying the Department regarding the abandoned case mentioned above.
