The United States Coast Guard (USCG) has been monitoring the vessel and its activities since it was abandoned at a ship repair facility in Southern Florida. USCG Headquarters (HQ) has contacted local USCG units and confirmed that the crew left the vessel in late April or mid-May; their whereabouts are unknown. The vessel remains at the repair facility, and local USCG personnel have confirmed there are outstanding fees owed. The vessel is unlikely to depart in the near future as it may be seized by the repair facility.
The USCG will provide updates and continue to monitor the vessel's activities and the well-being of the crew. We appreciate the efforts by Jamaica and their commitment to seafarer’s welfare.

Further to my email and your email below requesting comments, I am writing to update you on the actions taken to date on the matter at caption, in line with Jamaica's obligations as a Flag State. The Maritime Authority of Jamaica (MAJ) has taken steps in pursuance of the welfare of the crew, including investigating potential breaches of the MLC, particularly those related to unpaid wages and abandonment, as well as taking the relevant enforcement actions.
Several attempts have been made to contact the vessel's owners, using information from both official records and the crew. To date, there has been no response. As a result, the vessel was detained. The Certificate of Registry (COR) issued on 3rd March 2026 was withdrawn and replaced with a COR marked "not intended for operation" on 20th May 2026. The US Coast Guard was also informed and requested to prevent the vessel's departure until the issue is resolved.
A physical inspection of the vessel took place on 7th May 2026 by Jamaica's Deputy Registrar (DR) in South Florida, who visited the Yacht at the Rybovich Marina, Palm Beach. The DR boarded the vessel and took photographs showing work was being carried out.
The crew were advised of the possible legal actions available to them against the vessel, including the option to obtain legal representation to arrest the vessel. It is unclear whether the members of the crew will explore this option. The MAJ was, however, advised that the crew were seeking legal intervention in the matter and awaits an update in this regard. By way of email dated 5th August 2026, the former Captain of the vessel advised that the Marina was proceeding to seize the vessel. We await further information from the former Captain of the vessel.
In light of the foregoing, please allow me to reiterate Jamaica's continued commitment to fulfilling its obligations, especially those related to seafarers’ welfare, their rights and safety. We further remain seized of this matter, and an update will be provided to the Secretariat on future developments, once available.
