Circumstances
During the conduct of Initial MLC Inspection at Chittagong, Bangladesh on June 3, 2019, the flag state Inspector found evidences of delays of seafarers wage payments for 4 months. It was also found later that the Shipowner’s allege that they intentionally delay the payment of crew wages as requested by the crew themselves to save cost in bank charges, as opposed to monthly intervals pursuant to MLC 2006.
