The Philippine embassy in Tehran was able to get in touch with one of the Filipino seafarers onboard vessel SAMED, namely Mr. Ruben Castillo. Mr Castillo said that he and a fellow Filipino seafarer Ronald Garcia are in good condition and are able to contact their families in the Philippines as well as their local manning agency. He said there is late ration of food and they have two months of unpaid salaries.
We informed our Labor attache of the information given that the matter involves unpaid salaries. Home office had also been requested to contact the Philippine local meaning agency, Royalty Maritime Services Inc.
