11 April 2022: Philippines
The Philippine Embassy in Mexico reported that the passenger vessel MANTRA is in Balbao Anchorage, Panama since 03 March 2022. The embassy's representative spoke with Mr. George Kafkarisios, the MANTRA vessel Manager based in Greece who said that the principal owner has yet to decide whether or not MANTRA will continue to be a passenger vessel or it would be recalled to Greece for good.
Mr. Kafkarisios also confirmed that the 2 month salaries of the crew which included two Filipinos have been settled despite delays owing to problems with the shipping's bank account in the last couple of months. He gave the assurance that they were working on the repatriation of the Filipinos in the first week of April .
