as competent flag State authority we would like to confirm the abandonment case of the M/V LEV TWISTER (IMO 8302088) and like to inform you briefly about the current situation. The M/V LEV TORNADO (IMO 7725453) and M/V LEV TAIFUN (IMO 8650382) are also affected by this case. All three ships flying the German flag and are safely moored in the port of Bremerhaven. The responsible shipowner for the ships is the German based company INNOVEN Marine Service GmbH & Co. KG.

The total no. of 16 seafarers are considered as abandoned. The composition per ship is as follows :

M/V LEV TWISTER: 10 (Nationalities: Latvia (1), Ukraine (7), Philippines (2))
M/V LEV TORNADO: 4 (Nationalities: Montenegro (1), Ukraine (1), Philippines (2))
M/V LEV TAIFUN: 2 (Nationalities: Russia (2))

Current situation:

Two (2) Ukrainian seafarers of the LEV TWISTER have already been repatriated by the financial security provider. Thus eight (8) seafarers remain on board the LEV TWISTER. The financial security provider is currently clarifying the wage entitlements for the 14 remaining seafarers on board the three ships. After finalizing the entitlements, the seafarers are to be repatriated by the financial security provider within the next days.

The seafarers on board are provided with the essential needs such as adequate food and drinking water.
