Circumstances

Vessel inspected in Finland on 15 March 2023 by ITF.
During inspection it was noticed that overtime records are not kept and not paid. Identified employment of a cadet which cannot be categorized as a cadet. On 16 March 2023 ITF inspector was informed by crew of double bookkeeping. Only the home allotments are paid. The cash is not paid – same confirmed to another ITF inspector by the crew on 21 March 2023. The crew is forced to sign documents on receipt of cash wages which are not correct. They fear for their situation on board and after off-signing. The vessel left Finland to Belgium on 16 March 2023. On 20 March 2023 principals informed the ITF that they have not paid anything and that they do not accept the wages claim
