Circumstances
Total lack provision and water. They reported to have been showering with sea water, and to have been mixing drinking water with seawater.
Unpaid wages from between 4 and 11 months. Some crew have expired contacts.
Repatriation is requested.

We hereby wish to formally inform you that, with regard to Abandonment Case No. 00771 (Vessel JANAY- IMO N. 7015509) all seafarers have been duly paid and repatriated in accordance with the applicable requirements.
For your reference and further action, please find attached the official proof of settlement of all outstanding payments to the seafarers.
In light of this development, we respectfully request that the necessary steps be taken to ensure that the relevant entry in the ILO abandonment database is duly updated, and that the case be marked as resolved, in accordance with the applicable procedures.

Some crewmembers have received payments and have been repatriated. The seafarers who disembarked on the 30th June 2023 have still not yet been paid

1. The unpaid wages of Egyptian seafarers had been settled
2. Egyptian seafarers had been repatriated to Egypt safely on Sept. 21st, 2023

21 September 2023: Togo
The High Commission of Togo in London presents its compliments to the International Maritime Organization(IMO) and, with reference to its email of 17 July 2023 regarding the case of abandonment of the livestock Carrier "JANAY", has the honour to transmit some documents sent by the competent authorities of the Republic of Togo.
The said documents are related to the ongoing investigation on this case, especially the information given by the owner's lawyer. The investigators are trying to meet the Syrian captain to take his statement but have not yet been able to contact him. An update will be provided as soon as his statement is received.
