The Embassy informs IMO that vessel Boffa belongs to the fishing company SONIT PECHE and has been asked to provide all necessary information attesting the handling of the seafarers on board the said vessel in accordance with the relevant regulations.

The enclosed documents are as follows;

1. Exchange letters between National Directorate of the Merchant Navy and SONIT PECHE

2. Transfer order of seafarers on board salaries;

3. The salary of the vessel crew (MV BOFFA);

4. Note if the company SMART SEAZAYS SOLUTIONS, S.L.U, recognizing that the vessel is in fairing in Las Palmas;

5. Certificate of recognition of the captain of MV BOFFA;

6. Seafarers' salaries payment receipt;

Please see below the information submitted by the Local Maritime Authority in Las Palmas on the situation of the Fishing vessel ‘BOFFA’, IMO Number 8606795, flag: Guinea, having on board 29 seafarers from Russian Federation (12) and Ukraine (17), who are abandoned in Las Palmas, Canary Islands, Spain on 1 October 2023. The insurer is: UNKNOWN.
• ITF Local inspector reports that BOFFA crew members received their owed wages in cash and on board the ship on Monday 15 January 2024.
