Following communication with the vessel's master, Mr. Youssef Nawar, all requisite measures have been undertaken. The Administration promptly communicated with the owner of the Mongolian-flagged general cargo ship Haskal (IMO 8605480) "Haskal Shipping Ltd" and urged them to provide an explanation, settle the crew members' salaries and repatriate the crew to their home countries. The owner has explained that the crew receives their salaries in cash and they weren't able to deliver cash onboard during the vessel's voyage. According to the master Youssef Nawar's statement, the crew members have already received their provisions and salaries, supported by the attached documentation. Mr. Youseff Nawar further asserts that the owner has already sent a bank deposit slip for the transfer of outstanding salaries.
Furthermore, please find the attached email screenshot wherein master Mr. Youseff Nawar confirms that the crew received their provisions and assures the salaries will be received on May 16, 2024.
If you have any further inquiries, please let me know. I will engage in further discussion with the owner regarding repatration and obtain their final confirmation on the salary issue. We will follow up this case daily.
